On the authority of Abu Hurairah (ra) that the Messenger of Allah (saw) said, "When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: Sadaqah Jariyah (a continuous charity), or knowledge from which benefit is gained, or a righteous child who prays for him." [Muslim]
Sadaqah Jariyah is a unique, long-term charity that brings ongoing, continuous reward to those who donate it. Sadaqah Jariyah projects are those projects that support the recipients and future generations for a long time, and thus giving the donor ongoing reward.
Sadaqah Jariyah donations may just be a single donation that help change lives, thus making an impact for generations to come, bringing endless rewards.
When we die, we leave this world with nothing except a record of the good deeds we have performed. One of the three things that do continue to benefit us when we have died, is a continuous charity – a Sadaqah Jariyah.
This is a form of charity that continues to bring ease and support to those in need every day. You can make a donation in your own name to benefit you, or in the name of a deceased loved one so it can benefit them in the hereafter too insha'Allah.

Sustainable solutions for a better tomorrow
Our life-changing and sustainable projects enable us to make a difference to the lives of people for years to come, ensuring that we also join in the benefit of ongoing reward. This means you will receive countless rewards for a single donation, even after you have passed away. You can even give on behalf of a deceased loved one, as they will continue to gain reward from it for as long as people benefit from it.
Our tailored projects benefit communities for generations to come facilitating long-lasting, positive change.
With Ummah Relief Mission, your Sadaqah Jariyah could provide people with clean water for years to come, keeping them healthy, safe and happy. You can do this by building a handpump. Every drop of clean water is helping vulnerable people to lead better lives, and this will bring you reward upon reward.
You could build a school and create a space for children to learn and grow, shaping the world of tomorrow. Education has a long-term impact on children, helping them to develop skills and knowledge which will benefit them for years to come. The more educated a child is, the better chance they have of accessing a good job and better opportunities, helping to break cycles of poverty.
As Sadaqah Jariyah, you could vow to care for orphans, and give them everything a parent would so that they achieve their full potential. You can sponsor an orphan and help provide an orphan with everything they need for a good life.
Who is eligible to pay Sadaqah?
Unlike giving Zakat, Sadaqah is not compulsory. Sadaqah can be given at any time by anybody of any age or wealth. There is no limit on the amount that can be given. Through making Sadaqah donations, donors know that they are making a difference in the world, benefitting their mindset whilst simultaneously improving their standing in the Hereafter.
How much should we pay for Sadaqah Jariyah?
There are no guidelines or limitations on how much we should give as Sadaqah Jariyah. As with any good deeds, our intentions are also very important, and the value of our giving is increased when we take our own situations and hardships into account. You can give as little or as much as you are able to do. Giving Sadaqah does not decrease wealth. In fact, it can bring Barakah into our lives, protecting our wealth and protecting us against calamity.
When and where do we give Sadaqah Jariyah?
You can give your Sadaqah Jariyah at any time. Whether you are looking to donate just a few pounds a month, or want to help build a school, at Ummah Relief Mission, we can utilise your Sadaqah contribution to make an impact on the most vulnerable individuals in the world.
Is Sadaqah Jariyah the same as Zakat?
Sadaqah Jariyah and Zakat differ greatly. Zakat is considered a compulsory charity where 2.5% of one's wealth must be calculated annually and distributed among those eligible to receive it. Sadaqah Jariyah is voluntary and ongoing.
