Providing Nourishment and Joy for Eid
Fitrana (or Zakat al-Fitr) is a mandatory charitable donation that every Muslim who has the means must pay before the Eid ul-Fitr prayer. It is designed to ensure that even the most vulnerable members of our Ummah can enjoy the day of Eid with a full stomach.
The amount is calculated based on the cost of one meal per person in the family. At Ummah Relief Mission, we have set the Fitrana amount at £5 per person.
"The Messenger of Allah (saw) ordained Zakat al-Fitr to purify the fasting person from indecent words or actions, and to provide food for the needy." (Abu Dawud)

Did you know?
Fitrana must be paid **before** the Eid prayer so that it can reach those in need in time for the celebrations. Make sure to pay yours early!
